Three Sun International Casino Properties Voted ‘Coolest’In South Africa
Sun International is one of the biggest and most popular gaming and hotel group in the African continent. The company received a number of accolades at the 2018 Sunday Times Generation Next Awards. Sun International took the second place in the category for Coolest Hotel Group while three of its properties featured in the list for the Coolest Local Entertainment Place.
The three Sun International properties that received awards were GrandWest who took the 6th place, Carnival City who took 5th place and Sun City which took the top spot.
In a statement, Rob Collins, Sun International: Group Chief Strategy & Operations Officer said “We are thrilled that the Sun International brand and three of its properties have been ranked amongst the ‘coolest’ by South Africa’s youth in this year’s Sunday Times Generation Next Awards. For any brand to be sustainable in a highly competitive market, it needs to resonate with young people as they possess future purchasing power.”
Sun International Brand Popular With Younger Generation
The Sunday Times Generation Next Study is widely recognized all over the country as this is the 14th year that the study is taking place. It provides insight into which brands the younger generation value and prefer along with information on consumer behaviour. The study was conducted by HDI Youth Marketeers who surveyed more than 12 thousand young people in different age groups ranging from young adults, teens and kids all over South Africa.
Young people have to vote for their trends, brands and properties across 70 different categories and the results were tabulated to show that Sun International and its properties were ranked highly by South Africa’s younger generation.
Sun City: This resort opened in North West back in 1979 and is situated close to the Pilanesberg National Park.
GrandWest: has the distinction of being the biggest gaming and entertainment destination in South Africa as well as the only casino in Cape Town.
Carnival City: Located in Gauteng, this casino property provides patrons with a host of gaming and non-gaming activities throughout the year.
