NetEnt Enters into New Deal with Sony for Jumanji Slot Release
Following on the heels of the spectacular success of the latest movie in the Jumanji brand, the digital gaming solutions group, NetEnt, has inked an agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to release of a new slot game.
NetEnt has given the go-ahead to produce the new video slot, Jumanji which it will base on the first movie in the brand, when the original was first released in 1995.
Players who are keen to see tidbits of the new Jumanji slot should head to NetEnt’s stand (N3 – 242) at the upcoming ICE exhibition in London, where NetEnt will be unveiling the branded title on Tuesday, February 6th at 15:00.
The world is currently Jumanji mad, after Sony released the newest movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, on December 20th, 2017, just a few short weeks ago. This blockbuster is currently making waves among fans and it has already delivered close to $680 million in global box offices. As such, it made good business sense for NetEnt to ink an agreement with Sony in order to tap into the popularity of this brand and create a very exciting new slot game.
But while Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is the movie that everyone is watching right now, NetEnt actually chose to go back to where all the action began in this brand, with the release of the adventure fantasy movie of 1995. As such, all the favorite personalities of the original movie can be found on the reels of the new slot game.
Jumanji video slot will be released later this year.
“Being able to secure a deal for another high-profile title showcases the moves we’re making in diversifying our roster of games,” said Henrik Fagerlund, the chief produce officer of NetEnt.
“The original Jumanji movie, which debuted in 1995, remains a moviegoer favourite and continues to demonstrate its cross-generational appeal more than 20 years later! Also, with the recent release of the new film, the Jumanji brand is more popular than ever. We’re excited for the game launch in 2018.”
